RNI India is a statutory body of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. MIB is used to register editorials such as magazines and newspapers in India. It was established on 1 July 1956. The First Press Commission of 1953 proposed to speak about Rainey, and the press review and recording of books allowed this legal body to assume power. The RNI office in India is located in Delhi, Rajdhani, and has provincial offices in Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The RNI regulates and monitors the publication and printing of newspapers under PRB law.

RNI Registration Process

By RNI REGISTRATION, the newspaper registrar for India first confirms the proposed name of the newspaper.

After that, a title review request should be made, which includes the following:

¨  Newspaper Name.

¨  Owner's Name.

¨  Circulation Language.

¨   Periodicity and Scope Of Newspaper Publication.

¨  With the increasing popularity of the Internet, the Indian Newspaper Registration Office (RNI) has also made it possible to submit an online review request.
¨  After verifying the identity information of the applicant, the District Judge forwards the application for RNI lens, which verifies the availability of the ticket.
¨  I issued a confirmation letter to the District Judge and the publisher informing him of the availability of the title.
¨  The publisher must submit a statement to the District Judge in the prescribed format available for newspaper publication.
¨ An application for registration may be submitted with the RNI for a certified copy of the title amendment, a copy of the declaration, an earlier edition of the newspaper and a "no foreign tie-up" duly certified by a notary.

If it is a daily or a weekly edition, the first edition of the newspaper should be printed within 45 days after the date of the announcement, and other newspapers should be printed within 90 days.

The newspaper should contain the following information:

¨  Issue Number,
¨  Volume Number,
¨  Title: It appears prominently on the cover and all pages.
¨  Time Limit/ Deadline,
¨  Number of pages and
A print line in the following:

a)      Publisher name,

b)      Printer

c)       Editor and owner,

d)      Address of the place of publication

e)      Name and address of the printing press.

If the printer and publisher are different people, different details must be presented. Documents required for registration.

Documents required for the registration process:

v  Copy of title modification letter.

v  Copy of the statement duly attested by the District Judge/Additional District Judge, etc.

v  Oath declaration for a foreign notary is not duly certified.

v  A copy of the first edition of the publication, which is published within 42 days and 14 days to 90 days for daily and weekly newspapers.

v  Copy of the latest edition of the publication.

¨  Founders Act, Memorandum / Articles of Association.

¨  In case of ownership, registration certificate issued by law on shops and equipment.

¨  Association certificate in case of an affiliated company.

¨  PAN copy.

¨  In the case of the company, a copy of the resolution of the board of directors.

¨  Proof of identity and address of partners / administrators/owners.

Request New Documents

If the publisher, printer, owner, frequency, and press change, the publisher/printer must make a new statement.

Procedure for obtaining magazine license:

ü  Submit the title review request form and contact the district court.
ü  Obtain a journal number assigned by the Magistrate Court and contact the Office of the Registrar of Newspapers of India (RNI) to verify the availability of the name with the Magistrate Court.
ü  Once the name is approved, contact the local court for a hearing.
ü  Printers, publishers and publishers must appear before the judge: To take oath along with the following documents:
a)      Copy of declaration to be completed by printer, publisher, and publisher
b)      Proof of address and identity of printer, publisher, and publisher
c)       Print a copy of the printer's press license

 

ü  After completing these steps, the district court sends a permit.

ü  The journal can be published and copies of the published journals should be sent to the RNI Regional Office for final approval

ü  Once the RNI office is satisfied, it issues the AN RNI certificate and both (RNI number and journal number) must be included in each issue of the journal.
